Attachment hire

Attachment Hire

Need post holes?

Hire the auger drive, augers and tilt mud bucket on their own to fit your own machine, or add them to a Kubota U17 hire. Priced per day, or a flat rate for the weekend package.

What you can add

Hire attachments on their own for a machine you already have, or add them to a Kubota U17 hire. If you're fitting them to your own excavator, check the fit details below — tell us your machine when you enquire and we'll confirm before you book.

Auger hire in the Hunter

The auger turns the 1.7 t Kubota into a post-hole machine. It suits fencing runs, deck and pergola footings, and vineyard or acreage work around Cessnock, Pokolbin, Maitland and the wider Hunter Valley.

Ground conditions decide what any auger can do — heavy rock, tree roots or buried services will stop one. If you're unsure, tell us what you're drilling into when you enquire and we'll give you a straight answer.

Both auger sizes can go out on the same hire, so you're not stuck if the hole size changes on site.

Frequently asked questions

Will the attachments fit my machine?

The auger drive is supplied on a double pin hitch to suit a 1.7–2.5 t excavator and needs auxiliary hydraulics. Couplers can be poppet or flat-faced. Send your machine details and we'll confirm the fit before you book.

What auger sizes do you have?

Two: 300 mm and 450 mm. Both are Digga A4 augers with teeth and pilot, run off a Digga PDX2 auger drive on the Kubota U17.

How much is auger hire?

The auger drive plus one auger is $100 + GST per day, or $175 + GST for the weekend package. Adding the second auger size is $25 + GST per day, or $40 + GST for the weekend.

Can I hire an auger on its own?

Yes. Attachments can be hired standalone to fit your own machine, or added to a Kubota U17 hire. Tell us the make, model and weight of your excavator when you enquire so we can confirm the hitch and hydraulics suit.

What can the auger dig?

Post holes for fencing, decking and pergolas, footings, and vineyard or acreage work. Ground conditions matter — heavy rock or buried services can stop any auger.

What's included with the excavator at no extra cost?

300 mm and 450 mm digging buckets, a ripper, and the trailer to tow the machine. You only pay extra for the auger drive, extra auger sizes or the tilt mud bucket.

Adding an auger to your hire?

Check availability and we'll confirm the machine, attachments, dates and delivery.
