We think you should understand the price and the conditions before you collect the equipment — not find out at the counter. Here's what's included, and the only things that can cost extra.
Your hire includes
- The machine, clean, inspected and fuelled
- Standard attachments listed on the equipment page (buckets, ripper, tilt mud bucket and trailer with the excavator)
- The published hour or kilometre allowance for your hire period
- Reasonable minor cleaning on return
- A clear written hire agreement before release
You may pay extra if…
- You exceed the included hours or kilometres (excess rates are confirmed with your quote)
- The machine comes back below a full fuel tank
- It needs more than minor cleaning (mud, clay, concrete)
- Equipment is damaged, lost or returned late
- You add delivery, collection, attachments or an extension
- Tolls, fines or infringements are incurred during the hire

Applicable charges are confirmed in writing before a booking is approved.
Bond and insurance
A security bond and insurance excess may apply. These amounts are confirmed before the booking is approved and may vary depending on the equipment, driver eligibility and hire conditions.
What Machinery Hire Network needs before a booking is approved
Valid driver licence
A current Australian driver licence of the required class for the equipment.
Minimum age
Minimum age requirements apply and depend on the equipment and insurance conditions.
Approved intended use
The intended use and materials carried must be approved before collection.
Identity verification
Identification is verified as part of the booking review.
Signed hire agreement
The hire agreement must be signed before the equipment is released.
Bond and payment
The required bond and payment must be completed before collection.
Insurance eligibility
Drivers must meet the applicable insurance eligibility conditions.
Prohibited use
Restricted materials and prohibited use conditions apply to all hires.
You'll know the total before you collect.
Rates, allowances, delivery and the security pre-authorisation are published up front. The only extras are the ones listed above — and only if they happen.
