Equipment hire FAQs
Common questions about licences, bonds, kilometres, prohibited use and how Machinery Hire Network bookings work.
What licence do I need?
Licence requirements depend on the equipment. The required licence class is listed on each equipment page and confirmed before booking.
Is there a minimum driver age?
Yes. Minimum age conditions may apply depending on the vehicle and insurance requirements.
Is a security bond required?
Yes. The required bond is confirmed before the booking is approved.
How much does equipment hire cost?
Pricing depends on the equipment, booking dates, hire duration, intended use and collection or delivery requirements. Submit an enquiry to receive a confirmed hire estimate.
Are kilometres included?
The included kilometre allowance is confirmed before booking. Additional kilometres may be charged separately.
Does the vehicle need to be returned with fuel?

Not without written approval. Asbestos, contaminated waste, hazardous materials and prohibited substances must not be transported unless specifically authorised and all legal requirements are met.
Can I take the truck off-road?
Only approved use is permitted. Beach driving, four-wheel-drive tracks, unsuitable worksites and other restricted use may be prohibited.
What happens if the equipment is damaged?
The hirer is responsible for damage, loss and associated costs during the hire period, subject to the hire agreement and applicable insurance conditions.
Can I book instantly?
No. Bookings are request-based. Machinery Hire Network confirms availability, eligibility, pricing and hire conditions before approval.

Delivery may be available depending on the equipment, distance and booking schedule.
